EC source says Netherlands can allow Hague to buy gas from Gazprom
MOSCOW, Aug 29 (PRIME) -- The Netherlands may allow the city government of the Hague to buy gas from Russian gas giant Gazprom as an exception from the E.U. sanctions effective from October 10, a source with the European Commission told PRIME on Monday.
“The fifth package of sanctions prohibits participation of Russians and Russian companies in E.U.’s procurements from October 10. The national authorities can make exceptions if conclusion or continuation of a state contract is necessary for imports or transportation of natural gas from Russia to the E.U.,” the person said.
